How to change Logon Screen Background on windows 7,8

Hi guys in this tutorial i am gonna show how to change the logon screen in windows 7 with out using any third party tool(software). This article suits for those who have a passion towards the computers and want to customize there PC totally.This setting is disabled by default.You can enable it by changing a specific value in Registry editor.So lets change the log0n screen.

How to change Login Screen Background on windows 7,8

Steps:

1.Open Run and type "regedit" in it.It is recommended to run using Administrator rights.

2.Navigate to path which is given below.

HKEY-LOCAL-MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\windows\Authentication\LoginUI\background

$Browse to HKEY-LOCAL-MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\windows\Authentication\LoginUI\background$

3.Double click on the OEMBackground in the right side and change the value to 1 as shown below.
Play Android games on PC using bluestacks.

Double click on OEMBakground and change the value to 1.

4.If you don't find it,Right click >New>DWORD value and name it as OEMBackground and do the same thing as in step 3.

If you dont find the OEMBackground then right click on the right side and click on new>DWORD (32 bit) value and name it as OEMBackground and give the value as 1.

Note:

When you change the theme or background of the desktop, the OEMBackground value will return to the default value.

5.In order to make 1 as the default value we gonna make some changes to the settings in Group policy editor.

6.Open run and type 'gpedit.msc' as shown below.

7.Now a window will pop up and browse to the path as shown below.

In the window browse to computer configuration>Administrative templates>system>Logon

8.Double click on the "Always use custom Logon background" and click on enable to prevent the value to change to default value i.e zero when you change the theme of the desktop.

Double click on "Always use custom Logon background and click on enable and click on ok

9.Now the final stage is setting the image.Create an image whose size is less than 256KB.Now move to the following directory as mentioned.

Computer>Windows>System 32>oobe.

10.Create a folder named "info" in it and a sub folder "backgrounds" in info folder as shown below.

Now browse to computer>windows>system32>oobe and create a folder named info and subfolder named backgrounds in the info folder.

11.Now copy the image in the backgrounds folder and name it as "backgroundDefault". as shown below.

Now move the image in to the background subfolder and name it as backgroundDefault.

12.Log off your computer an you will see your image instead of default image.

Log off your computer and you will see the image on the logon screen
