How to Backup your Registry editor in windows XP/vista/7/8.

In this post i am gonna show you how to backup or restore the registry editor in windows 7.Before going into the discussion lets see what exactly a windows registry means.Registry editor is a place where all the information i.e configuration settings and options are stored in the form of HEX and BITS or Keys and value.

We often use it without our notice when we install a program and we try to change the registry editor value for some or the reasons and make our PC crash or go viral.In order to prevent such conditions we can backup the registry editor.So lets see how to backup or restore it.

Steps:

1.Open Run and type Regedit in it.
Open Run and type regedit in it.
 2.Now click on  File and then on Export(File>Export).
Click on file and then on export.
3.Save the file with any name and don't change the Save as type and save it to desktop.
Change the tile of internet explorer using registry editor.
4.Now you will see an icon as shown below.

5.If you want to back up a certain registry expand it and Right click>export as shown below.
If you want to backup a certain registry right click on file and then click on export.
6.If you want to restore the past registry editor,double click on the saved registry and click yes to restore it as shown below.
Double click on the backup registry file to restore the registry settings
                                                                                  or
                                                          you can import as shown below.
Click on file>import and select eh backup file and click on ok.
